Aren't grandparents great?

Aren't grandparents great? Kevin and I both have very fond memories with our grandparents that we treasure......memories of late and memories from long ago. In fact, one of the things that we share with people about our wedding is that we had 7 of our 8 grandparents attend our wedding! That's unheard of! The only grandparent not at our wedding was my grandfather, who passed away at a very young age of a heart attack when I was 3. Since our wedding, Kevin's maternal grandparents have both gone to be with the Lord. We are so grateful for our grandparents and the heritage that they have handed down to us. All 8 of our grandparents (that right, only 8 because the four couples have shared over 200 years of marriage between them.....WOW!) put their faith and hope in Jesus years ago and made Him the foundations of their families. What a blessing...........

All of that to say, our children are equally blessed. Kevin and I are so thankful for our parents and their interactions with our children. They love our girls and our girls love them! Both of these pictures were taken in September.....one at the first of the month and one at the end of the month. My parents have been married 31 years and Kevin's parents have been married 40 years. Today, we ended a sermon series at church on marriage.......I think it fitting that I post this today as a way to honor our parents, their commitment to each other, and the heritage that they are passing down to us and our children.
