King of the Castle

Kevin might hate me for this, but I couldn't resist snapping this picture on Sunday afternoon. I thought it was quite appropriate considering all the pink in his life! This is one of the new blankets off of the girls' beds. The seamstress made them quite a bit bigger than my mom anticipated, so they are actually a great size for an adult to use! And they are so soft! Chloe had been in the chair with Kevin, had gotten up, and left him there with her blanket.

I have heard people say that they felt like certain men were just called to be daddies to girls, because it took a special person. I'm so thankful for Kevin.....he's such a good Daddy to our girls! I am consistently blessed as I witness him living out God's calling on his life as a daddy, a husband, a pastor, and the "king of our castle!"

The Finished Product

Well, we finally got the girls room re-done! Kevin and I spent all day Friday working on getting the room painted and everything put back in place. The girls spent Friday night with Reesie and Papa and we went and got them on Saturday at lunch. It was a whirwind, but it turned out so cute and fun! The girls have done pretty good.....they sleep well.....it's just getting to sleep that can be a little tricky!

I still need to find a lampshade......there are only so many places in Tifton that you can look!

The seamstress did an amazing job on the pillows......lots of little details and creativity that really make them fun!

I am so thankful to have this behind me! I've already started going through some things in the nursery and have started to wash the bedding! We're counting down to Baby Caitlyn's arrival!

Bedtime Prayers

We just got the girls in bed.......it's moments like these I never want to forget. Lately, they've wanted us all to take turns praying. Claire goes first, then Chloe, and Mommy, and Daddy. Tonight was no different. Claire started by praying, and her prayer included the following......"Help Daddy not cut grass or go to work tomorrow." Have I mentioned that they are really stuck to their Daddy lately? The more pregnant I get, the more stuck they are to Kevin.....they want him to be with us 24/7. It's so sweet! Then Chloe prayed, and it went something like this....."Help me to take care of two little sisters." Isn't it amazing how God is preparing her little heart for what He has called her to be?

I am so blessed to be their Mommy. As I've said before, it is the most challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done!

Being silly one day last week!

Claire's First Day of School - 2010

For all this time they've waited, and Wednesday it finally happened......Claire got to go to school with Chloe! I'm not sure who was more excited that morning, Chloe or Claire!
Claire is in the one year old class at our church preschool, and she goes on Wednesdays and Fridays. Her teachers are Miss Dawn and Miss Sherry.
Here's our big girl all ready to go!

Two sweet girls, excited about school! I pray that school is always a good experience for them and that they enjoy learning.
We got to the church and the girls walked hand in hand all the way to Chloe's class. Chloe then bent down and gave her sister a big hug and kiss on the cheek and told her to have a good day. Then she took off to her class and we walked around the corner to Claire's class. How sweet this scene was.......one that I hope I never forget!

Mega Diaper Deal!

This deal was just too good not to talk about.....even Kevin thought I should blog about this! :)

I keep up with a couple of savings websites.............MoneySaving Mom and Hip2Save. They both have coupon/deal scenarios for all of the major chain stores as well as countless numbers of individual deals from all sorts of retailers. I caught wind of one such deal last week and began to work on it. What you see above, is my order summary from my most recent Amazon order. (I say most recent because Amazon has become my favorite website to visit! But that's another post!) I ordered an Economy Plus box of Size 1 Pampers for Baby Caitlyn.......$41.49. This was the current sale price on Amazon. I then signed up for Amazon's Subscribe and Save program, which gave me the first discount. I then entered 20% coupons from my August and September issues of Parents Magazine. Lastly, I used a coupon off of Amazon's coupon page. With all the discounts, total was $10.94!!!! I just got 216 Pampers diapers for less than $11!!!! And I forgot to mention that they will be delivered right to my door with free 2-day shipping!

Does it make me a sick person to be this excited over a diaper deal? :)

A Captured Moment

On the rare occasion, I find this little one still. This was one of those moments, and I couldn't help but grab my camera off of the counter to capture it. This little bundle of energy is getting to be such a big girl. She is so funny and I quite often have to wipe smirks off of my face in order to discipline or correct! She keeps us laughing! I have prayed many times over her at night that God would give her all that she needs to be the middle girl child with grace. I love her so much!

Chloe's First Day of School - 2010

Yesterday (Monday) marked the first day of school for Chloe! This year, she is attending our church preschool three mornings a week....Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.....and is in a 3 year old class. Her teachers are Miss Kit and Miss Rachel.
Sunday night, we picked out everything and go it all ready to go. Chloe even had me paint her toenails and fingernails! I guess a mani and pedi make all occasions special!
Here is my big girl all ready to go! Kevin was behind me telling her to please smile normal, and not fake! Ha! I finally told him to hush and not worry about it.....we at least got a happy picture of a happy girl! She was so excited about heading off to school with Daddy.

As I've told you before, the normal routine has been for Kevin to take Chloe to school. I really think that riding with Daddy is one of Chloe's favorite parts! So, on her first day, she wanted a picture of her and Daddy too. I caught this one as they were talking......so sweet. Doesn't seem possible that this sweet girl will be four in just a couple of months! She is such a good big sister and I'm so thankful for her!

28 Weeks and Her Name

Well, here we are at 28 weeks......11 more to go (not that I'm counting or anything). I am definately getting ready to hold her in my arms, and NOT in my body! In all likelihood, the next 11 weeks will go by much quicker than it sounds like they will. We have tons of things on our calendar as we start our fall routine.

Now on to the real reason you all are reading......her name. We finally decided.....Kevin and I narrowed the list down and came up with 2 or 3 names that we liked and then we talked to Chloe to see what she thought. We all agreed that her name should be Caitlyn....Caitlyn Ansley Kilgore.

We're all ready to meet sweet little Caitlyn.....we even pulled down some baby clothes this weekend and the girls got so excited. Until her birth day arrives, we're waiting and praying that Baby Caitlyn will grown big and strong in Mommy's tummy!

Girls' Room Redo - Part 2

As I mentioned in this post, we're in the process of getting everything ready to move Chloe and Claire into a room together. We are wanting to be very intentional about this being something special for the two of them, before the baby comes. The closets and toy organization were step one. Part Two has consisted of picking out bedding and getting it ready for execution day.

I've been working on painting Claire's bed. When Chloe moved into big girl furniture, we got one of these twin beds down out of the attic and the dresser that matched and I worked to paint them for her. These beds were the twin beds that Kevin's dad and uncle slept on when they were kids. So far, Kevin has sanded it twice and I've put two coats of paint on it. I'm hoping to get two more coats of paint and be done!

After much searching and MANY nights on bedding websites, I finally gave up and headed to a couple of fabric stores nearby. Here's your sneak peak.......the finished product should be oh so cute and oh so girly......I'm so excited!! My mom delivered the fabric to the seamstress today, so now we wait!

And here's another sneak peak.........those are lime green sheets with white polka dots on the left and a white matelasse coverlet on the right.

Matresses are being delivered to Tifton this Friday. The only other thing left to do is study my Sherwin Williams color wheel.........it'll be interesting to see how that turns out! Stay tuned.....
