What we're up to....

Well, it's the week of my brother's wedding and life here is CRAZY as we try to get everything together to leave on Thursday at lunch. So, I've been trying to get some things done this afternoon and the girls have been playing........

Chloe is taking care of her babies (I really should have taken a picture of her room b/c there is so much baby stuff on the floor in there right now!).

Claire is hanging out with the Little People......I'm no genius, but I don't think this toy was made for crawling/standing on.....hmmmm.....

And three guesses what I'm doing??? (and will be doing for the rest of the evening.....sigh)

It's not PF Changs.......

...but it was also much better than the "Mystery Meat" Chinese buffet here in town!

Kevin bought this box a couple of weeks ago at one of our grocery stores. (This is the reason why I don't let him go grocery shopping by himself....although I also love this quality!) He thought that it would be something a little different. We added chicken, snow peas, an orange pepper, and broccoli to this box.....
.....and we had a really yummy dinner!

Payback......

I am convinced that my parents must have been paying me back for something in my childhood when they gave Chloe this piano for Christmas a couple of years ago. It's been in the top of the closet in Claire's room for quite some time now (like months) to give mine and Kevin's ears a break. Chloe happened to see it the other day and think that we needed to bring it out......unfortunately for all of us, Claire is the one who likes it! She is such a little ham! These pictures were taken right after I made her sit on the stool instead of stand on it......

In this last picture, Chloe was explaining to Claire how "Aunt Megan told me how to play the piano like this....." I wish that Aunt Megan knew about the "quiet" key!! ;)

First Day of Preschool - Fall 2009

Our Chloe-bug on her first day of Preschool - Fall 2009. She is in the 2 year old class on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.

She was so excited that she could hardly stand it! She woke up at 7am and told me that "now she could go to school!"

Yesterday, I told her that Claire and I could go with her to school since it was her first day. She said, "Naaah......I'll just ride with Daddy!" She is very protective of her traditional ride with Daddy to school!

Bye-bye, sister! I'll miss you!

My little chef

Last night, I was trying to hurry and get our dinner ready since we had church at 7pm. I was already dressed for church, so I put on my apron in an effort to keep my shirt clean. Chloe came running in the kitchen and said that she wanted to cook with me and use her "gredients." She wanted to "wear one of those too." So, we used a safety pin to wrap a dish towel around her as her apron. She then ran to the living room to get her pan and her "gredients." Then, she asked for a "notebook like yours, Mommy." So, I got her a cookbook to use. She had so much fun and was so proud of herself. She met Kevin at the door when he got home to tell him all about her yummy meal!

PS.....when I make my second million and get my dream kitchen, I'll get one of these.....aren't they cool for little chefs like mine!

A Picnic of Sorts

Yesterday, Chloe asked me if we could have a picnic for lunch. I told her that we could, and decided that it would be worth suffering in the heat for a few minutes to do something fun that she wanted to do. She headed outside, and upon discovering the humidity and heat index, she decided that a picnic outside was not her idea of fun. I wanted to curb her disappointment so I suggested that we have a picnic inside instead..........

An imagination and a climber......

I just wanted to share a few recent pictures of the girls. Most of these are from this weekend. The girls have so much fun together.

Over the last week or so, I feel like Chloe's imagination has come alive! She spends over half of her day pretending! It's so adorable.....sometimes I find myself just listening to her. I wish that I could wear a video camera around my neck some days to capture these moments......I don't want to ever forget things like this! She has named one of her stuffed animals, "Holly," and Holly seems to be a consistent topic in her pretend world. Holly has friends (whose names change regularly), has a baby sister, likes to go to the beach, and loves parties! I will have to get a picture of Holly sometime soon to show you all! For now, here are a couple of pictures of Chloe's pretend world...........

She also had a really good time this weekend playing with some Playdough......she spent about 30 minutes cutting and playing! I gave her some cookie cutters and that added a whole new dimension to her Playdough time.

In other news, we have a little munchkin who has figured out how to climb into her sister's chair! We have also caught her letting go of whatever she is holding onto and standing on her own several times! This child will be on the move on her feet soon!

*Notice Chloe's pink dress-up shoes and the Wii remote! :)
