This is what the girls did this afternoon......play with each other. Now, I know you're wondering why this deserves an entire blog post......because don't they play with each other every day? Yes.....they do........but that's not what struck me today about this scene. I found them in Claire's room dragging out toys and having the best time with each other and it blessed me so much! I realized as I watched and listened to them, that (even at their wee ages) they know so much about that four letter word that we all toss around (too) loosely sometimes.......LOVE. My girls love each other so much! Claire always finds Chloe in a room and wants to be right with Chloe all of the time......Claire is Chloe's biggest fan! And Chloe takes such good care of Claire. She tells her all the time that she loves her and gives her hugs and kisses in case Claire starts to doubt! Chloe wants to share her life with Claire......which is sometimes dangerous! However, she is careful to include Claire in what she does.
I never knew that I would find such great joy in watching my two girls play together. I never expected that finding them immersed in their own little world with each other would make tears well up in my eyes. It's the little things about being a mommy to these sweet little ones that always catch me by surprise. I pray that God reminds me daily of the little things and allows me to gracefully remind them of their unconditional love for each other over the years.
That four letter word.............LOVE.........
