O Christmas Tree

This afternoon, Chloe and I made Rice Krispie treats in the shape of a Christmas tree. We had so much fun! I melted the butter and marshmellows and then added green food coloring before adding the Rice Krispies. Once we made the tree, she decorated it with red and green M&Ms as the ornaments! Too cute!

Brownie Trifle Dessert

Yummy! This was our dessert last night and it turned out delicious! Kevin is mentoring a couple of college students that are seriously dating and thinking about getting engaged. He has met with them several times at his office, but wanted them to come out to the house so that I could meet them. We had them for dessert last night after the girls were in bed. My friend, Andrea, used to make a brownie trifle when she lived here. I emailed her for the recipe, and then put my own little twist on it. I don't have a trifle bowl, so I used glasses and made individual trifles. Here's the recipe:

Layer the following:

*brownies (crumble after baking)
*chocolate pudding (make according to package)
*whipped topping
*toffee bits

I also added caramel syrup. I was able to layer the items twice in these glasses. It was fun, easy, and cheap!
