I decided that I should begin the process of catching up by blogging about Christmas first. I'm going to do it in several parts, because our Christmas celebration involved quite a few stops this year! We logged A LOT of miles and hours in the car that last week of 2010. We were so proud of the girls......they were traveling troopers and we made lots of fun memories along the way!
We have pretty much established a new family tradition of being at our house on Christmas day. This is the second year we've done that.......and it's been a huge blessing. To not have to rush out the door and travel that day has allowed for a day of family fun and being together. This year, we went to our Christmas Eve service on Christmas Eve night and then joined our good friends and neighbors, the Harris', for dinner at their house. I was so appreciative of the invitation to join them in their home......we enjoyed ourselves! Then we came home and the girls got to open a present......new jammies! :)
I know this pictures isn't great.....however, I wanted to document this totally lame parenting moment that Kevin and I had! Ha! We forgot about making cookies for Santa.....I had bought the mix to make sugar cookies and everything and we just forgot! So.....the girls decided that Santa would be just fine with some leftover blueberry muffins! Isn't that funny? Oh, one of these days, Chloe and Claire will get a good laugh when they see this picture!
Santa came during the night! How fun!
My mom and dad, Reesie and Papa, and my grandmother, Gran, joined us that morning and stayed for lunch and part of the afternoon. Christmas Day ended with 3 sweet girls tucked in their beds, and a Mommy and a Daddy running around packing up for a big trip beginning the next day!
